Church that is Christ-centred
We are called to be Christ-centred, not people centred or me centred. The most important person in our lives as individuals is who our lives will revolve around. The same is true within a community. Jesus Christ must be the centre otherwise we no longer worship him as the one around whom our lives revolve- in other words we worship someone else as a god. Our natural tendency is to want to have everything focusing on ourselves, to hear messages or sing songs that entertain or provide some sort of life-coaching benefit- in effect we seek to make ourselves the most important person in the room. All that we do as the people of God is meant to be about focusing on Jesus and who He is and what He has done n order that we worship Him. Therefore, the songs that we sing with one another and to one another, the message that is contained in the preaching, what is taught to our children in their activities, and the content of all that we do as church must be all about Jesus and recognise Him as Lord (worthy of our worship and allegiance) and saviour (who has made such worship possible).
