Church that is Gospel Captivated
We are called to be Gospel Captivated, with nothing else as our driving motivation or defining message. In an age where the church is increasingly encouraged to redefine the message it presents in order to be more successful and numerically larger we are called to present the timeless truth of the Gospel as we find it in the Bible. God does not need an image change, nor should we seek to alter His characteristics. These are not exercises that we are called to nor that we should be proud enough to think that we should pursue, as if we know better than the One who has made us. The church of Jesus Christ exists as a display of His glory and is called to Gospel faithfulness- that is to believe it, proclaim it and hold to it- trusting that fruitfulness comes, not from how clever we are, but from how great God is. We are therefore driven by, establish our goal in, and define our message as we are captivated by the work of Jesus on the cross, His resurrection and eternal reign.
