Harvest Week 2

Two weeks down, four to go. Matthew and Katie are adjusting better now that they are on American time and particularly now that Katie now has the molars that were grumbling away. Alison has had a good opportunity to touch base with a few of the other women in the church. This has been an encouragement to her and has begun, we hope, some relationships which we hope will last for many years.

This week has had a particular small group focus for me. The intentionality of the group structure is great here and the deliberate focus on accountability will be of immense benefit back in Scotland. I have been able to spend some time with the guys who are here at the training centre and who will plant churches in Canada, Miami and Raleigh this summer. Yesterday they were having funeral sermons critiqued and I was included in the process both evaluating and being evaluated. I also was able to sit in on a worship planning meeting and spend dome time with the guys who oversee the compassion ministry that the church has going on.

Suffice to say that we feel more human this Saturday than last, having survived jet lag and the change of climate. Alison and the kids did try to go for a walk but Alison decided they should turn back befroe frostbite kicked in. Again, your prayers are appreciated- keep in touch via, e-mail, blog comments, skype or facebook and let us know what is happening with you so that we can pray for you.
