5 things I have learnt from Resolve07

5 things that I have learned and benefitted from in organising and being at Resolve this year.

1. My walk with God is deepened and improved by a bigger view of His majesty. That, as Calvin said, 'man is never sufficiently touched and affected by the awareness of his lowly state until he has compared himself with God’s majesty.'
2. I have been really struck by Titus 1:1 that speaks of the knowledge of the truth leading to godliness. So I am challenged to deepen my knowledge of truth knowing that it will necessarily make me more godly precisely because it will give me a bigger view of God.
3. I love hanging out and listening to guys my age bring the truth to bear on my life. Hearing Hamish, Colin and Liam convinced me that God by His grace will use these guys to change the spiritual climate of this country by the preaching of His Word. Next week I'm going to have the opportunity to hang out with and learn with them and another four or five guys from across the central belt of Scotland who serve local churches as pastors and who convictionally come from the same place and that encourages me more than I can say.
4. A small group of people hearing and responding to the truth excites me as much as a large group doing the same.
5. That truth brings transformation- in the local church, in the culture we live in, and first of all in my life.
